March General Membership Meeting

Date: Thursday, March 7, 2019

Time: 6:00 pm

Location: Oakmont of Pacific Beach, 955 Grand Ave, 3rd Floor, San Diego, CA 92109

Hello all - Please join us next week for PB Democratic Club's March meeting! We'll have great speakers and yummy snacks and refreshments.

Featured Speakers:

Kristen Victor, beautifulPB - beautifulPB is a 100% volunteer, public non-profit charity formed by a group of PB residents, businesses, and property owners who are collaborating with the local community to create a sustainably beautiful Pacific Beach. Kristen Victor from beatifulPB will be speaking on the organization, its goals, and how we can get more involved in community projects and programs that will bring us closer to realizing a Pacific Beach EcoDistrict.

Labor 101 - Local labor leaders will be giving a presentation on the history of labor, how far we have come, and what we can do tomorrow.

Club Program Updates:

Meals to Wheels - PBDC's Community Service Chair, Joe Bettles, will be giving an overview of our new community service program, Meals to Wheels. Meals to Wheels works with Jewish Family Services (JFS) to provide meals to unsheltered San Diegans living out of their vehicles who use JFS's Safe Parking Program. If you want to get more involved with the community and do some good, please volunteer and/or donate.

Political Action Proposals - In February's General Membership Meeting, PBDC unveiled a new plan to allow club members to continue involvement in political activism on a year-round basis on the issues that we care about most, with the backing of the Club. As promised, a Political Action page has been added to the Club's website, with instructions on how members can create their own political action proposals to propose to the Club. If there's an issue that drives you, and you feel compelled to take action on it, we hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity. Please visit our website for instructions: https://www.pbdemocrats.com/political-action The March meeting will include an update on progress of our first Political Action Proposal, which was on Criminal Justice in San Diego.
