Membership Meeting

Date: Thursday, March 5th, 2020 Time: 6:00 pm Location: Oakmont of Pacific Beach, 955 Grand Ave, 3rd Floor, San Diego, CA 92109

Meeting Agenda: *California Primary Election Recap *Featured Speaker: Councilmember Jennifer Campbell Come meet your city council representative! Councilmember Campbell will be giving us an update on our District and what's happening at the city level. She'll also be taking questions. For more information on the Councilmember, her committee assignments, and our district, please see: https://www.sandiego.gov/citycouncil/cd2 *Activity: Letter Writing to Arizona Voters We've had a ton of requests for opportunities to take more action during our meetings. With California's primary finished, we're going to do a letter writing campaign to Arizona voters asking them to vote! Arizona's presidential primary is coming up on March 17, and their primary election for the down-ballot races is August 4. We'll have all of the materials and addresses/names ready to go, just come ready to write :) Next up... Community Updates: Post-Census Redistricting Commission We are encouraging members to get involved with the City's redistricting commission. Redistricting is the process of redrawing the City Council district boundaries every 10 years following the Federal Decennial Census. The redrawing of district boundaries is designed to ensure that local legislatures are representative of the City’s population. How and where districts are drawn can shape a community’s ability to elect the representative of their choice. The districts are used for all elections of City Council members, including their recall, and for filling any vacancy in a City Council office. For more info please see: https://www.sandiego.gov/city-clerk/redistricting-commission Club Updates: Membership Dues - Please remember to renew your membership dues for 2020!
