The State Board of Equalization, District 4 includes Imperial, Orange, Riverside, San Bernadino, and San Diego counties. Democratic candidates for the State Board of Equalization are Martin Arias, Cody Petterson and Tom Umberg.
The Pacific Beach Democratic Club will also vote on whether to endorse our incumbent Senator Catherine S. Blakespear for another term in CA State Senate, District 38.

Help us welcome the League of Women Voters.

The League will provide a compelling an informative talk about the impact of federal spending on the San Diego region, including science and medical research grants and funding, defense contract spending, military funding and healthcare programs.
PROPOSED BYLAWS AMENDMENT
The proposed changes to the PBDC Bylaws are as follows:
"At least fourteen days prior to the general meeting the president shall cause to be deposited in the regular United States mail or email a newsletter addressed to each member of the club in good standing. The newsletter shall specify the time, place and date of the general meeting, proposed changes in the bylaws, resolutions, endorsements, and elections which are to be moted upon at the upcoming general meeting."
ABSENTEE BALLOTS
While proxy voting is not permitted by the PBDC Bylaws, absentee ballots are accepted via email. If you are not able to attend, but would like to vote in the State Board of Equalization endorsement, please reply to this email no later than 12 February 2026 at noon PST.
If you are a voting member in good standing and would like to vote via absentee ballot in the endorsements on calendar for 12 February 2026, you may reply to this email with the following information:

Please note: Emailed ballots must be received no later than 12:00 noon on 12 February 2026 in order to be counted. Remember that we must have a physical quorum. As such, please attend in person if you are able to ensure that a quorum is reached.
