Biography: Jodi Cleesattle is a veteran trial lawyer, a dedicated public servant, and an active community volunteer running for San Diego County Superior Court Judge. She has been practicing law for 32 years, working both in private practice and for the California Office of the Attorney General. She has the practical experience and knowledge to hear cases fairly and thoughtfully – and the commitment to treating all people with dignity and respect. Jodi stands strongly in support of the rule of law and the pursuit of justice, and she has been proud to represent the people of the State of California since 2007.



A leader in the legal community, Jodi has served as president of California Women Lawyers and co-president of the Tom Homann LGBTQ+ Law Association and has served on several boards. Jodi has been awarded the 2025 Outstanding Service by a Public Attorney Award from the San Diego County Bar Association, the 2021 Public Lawyer of the Year Award from the California Lawyers Association, and the 2014 Community Service Award from Lawyers Club of San Diego. She will bring compassion, common sense, and a commitment to equal justice with her to the bench.

Biography: Tia Ramirez is a seasoned legal professional and dedicated public servant with a career defined by "extraordinary grit" and a deep commitment to the San Diego community. A first-generation college graduate of San Diego State University and Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Tia balanced a full-time career with the demands of raising a young family to earn top honors and then flourished as a domestic violence prosecutor, rising through the ranks. She currently serves as the Chief Deputy City Attorney for the Gun Violence Response Unit, protecting local neighborhoods through the strategic pursuit of Gun Violence Restraining Orders.



With a diverse professional background that includes serving as an Administrative Law Judge and leading the Domestic Violence and Sex Crimes Unit as Chief, Tia combines a firm command of the law with a fair and compassionate approach to justice. Beyond the courtroom, she is a devoted wife to a retired Marine combat veteran, a mentor to pre-law students, and a community leader committed to ensuring the San Diego Superior Court reflects the integrity and diversity of the community it serves.

NO KINGS DAY OF ACTION: SATURDAY, MARCH 28


The Pacific Beach Democratic Club will join with other San Diegans as we gather on March 28 at Waterfront Park for No Kings, a nationwide day of peaceful civic action defending democracy and rejecting authoritarianism.


The event will feature a short program followed by a march through downtown San Diego, bringing together community organizations, labor groups, and democracy advocates from across the region. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and signs representing the issues that matter most to them.
