We hope you all are enjoying this holiday, and we send special thanks to our members, friends, and family who have served their country. As for later this week, we will be hosting Congressman Scott Peters, California's 52nd Congressional District and candidate for the newly formed 50th Congressional District for an update on our district! We will also hear from Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath, State Assembly District 76 and candidate for the newly formed 77th District.

As noted above, this meeting we will be hosting our 52nd District's Congressman, Representative Scott Peters and Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath Please see their bios below, and come prepared with questions!


Bios:Congressman Scott Peters serves California’s 52nd Congressional district, which includes the cities of Coronado, Poway, and most of northern San Diego. First elected in 2012, he currently serves on the House Budget Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee, as well as the Joint Economic Committee.

Scott Peters is a civic leader who has made improving the quality of life in San Diego his life’s work. As a Member of Congress, Scott’s emphasis has been promoting and expanding San Diego’s innovation ecosystem, advocating for San Diego’s pivotal role as a partner in the national defense, and making government work again. Ranked the 4th most independent Democrat in Congress by the National Journal, Scott Peters understands that business problems have bipartisan solutions, and is never afraid to work across party lines to build consensus and get things done.



Tasha Boerner Horvath was elected to the California State Assembly in November of 2018 and re-elected in November of 2020. She represents the 76th District, which encompasses Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, and Encinitas. She serves on the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and the following policy committees: Local Government, Communications & Conveyance, Aging & Long-Term Care, and Veterans Affairs. In addition, she chairs the Select Committee on Sea Level Rise & the California Economy. Before serving in the State Assembly, Tasha served as a local City Councilmember in Encinitas, businesswoman, and former PTA leader.
