The March meeting had a great turnout despite the heaviest rainstorm of this season! Attendees brainstormed issues and strategies for pushing back against the MAGA agenda and implementing resistance, campaigning and protests.
Additional areas of particular interest were:
Paying for “Red Cards” that list immigrants’ legal rights and resources that can be distributed locally, including at colleges;
Engaging with local civic clubs and organizations to build alliances;
Joining Take Action San Diego to build and maintain a platform for protests and actions;
Bringing in experts on how to talk with MAGA supporters and disaffected Democrats and independents;
Supporting the efforts of local teachers unions and the National Education Association to save the Department of Education;
How to gear up for the 2026 election cycle when we will elect a new California governor and other statewide officials, SD City Council District 2 (Mission Beach, OB, Pt Loma, Midway, Old Town and Bay Park), school board members and judges.

SAN DIEGANS 4 GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION
Our Mission - End Gun Violence

Please join the PB Democratic Club as we hear from SD4GVP, a coalition of concerned citizens united to end gun violence in America. The coalition includes many San Diego County organizations and individual citizens, just like you and me, who are stepping up to change our laws and prevent gun violence once and for all, through advocacy and education.
The speakers on Thursday, April 3rd, will explain gun control laws and licensing, the challenges of ghost gun printing, gun violence in crimes as well as gun-related issues you deem of particular interest to our area.
Remembering our Beloved Friend Janet Spiro
The Celebration of Life for Janet Spiro will be held on Friday, March 28, 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the community room at her condo complex, The Courtyards, 5805 Friars Road, SD, 92110.
If you would like to attend, please text or call 858-373-8089.

WHAT IS THE STATUS?!?!?
Our own Karl Rand will provide an update on the proposed 23-story tower building (mostly a hotel) at 970 Turquoise Street near Cass Street.

THANK YOU
To quote our good friend Wendy Gelernter, "thank you for being part of a movement that is slowly shifting public opinion and turning the tide against the cruel, dangerous and anti-democratic MAGA agenda. Whether it's the business leaders worrying about recession, the angry constituents at Republican town halls, the court system that is slowing down the flood of unconstitutional actions or the tens of thousands showing up to cheer Bernie and AOC in red and purple states, our movement is growing! Keep up the pressure, keep taking care of yourself and keep being kind!"
And hope to see you at the San Diego April 5 "Hands Off" Rally!
